Travel Plans
What is Travel Planning?
Travel planning is about realising more sustainable travel and unlocking climate, congestion, health and social benefits. It is the principal area in what the UK Government calls ‘Smarter Choices’ - and is known internationally Mobility Management.
"A travel plan is a long term management strategy for an occupier or site that seeks to deliver sustainable transport objectives through positive action and is articulated in a document that is regularly reviewed."

What we offer
We have been advising on travel plans for a number of years and cover both development related and voluntary driven strategies. Importantly, we can manage the travel plan from planning through implementation to monitoring and evaluation; and can advise on any element of the process.
We advise on each form of travel plan that requires a specific approach:
- Workplace Travel Plans
- Visitor/Leisure Travel Plans
- Residential Travel Plans
- School Travel Plans
We have also developed a tailored approach to Personal Travel Planning, based on best practice, for new development sites.
International Paper: One of our Directors, David Knight, presented a paper at the prestigious European Conference on Mobility Management (ECOMM2009) in San Sebastian on travel plan targets and evaluation (click here for copy of paper)
