Transport Planning Associates achieves double success!

We are delighted to announce that yesterday evening, Wednesday, 30 March 2011 Members of Medway Council's Planning Committee voted unanimously to grant planning permission for a new Tesco store for Strood.  The store, with a new sales area of 55,000 sq.ft will replace the existing store and will be raised on stilts above an under croft car park.  A glazed atrium containing travelators and lifts will provide the linkage between the shop floor and car parking, public transport inter-change and taxi waiting areas.

Earlier in the day, Members of Central Bedfordshire Council’s Development Management Committee resolved to grant planning permission for a new food store for Sandy, Bedfordshire. The store proposals, featuring low carbon footprint construction techniques, were overwhelmingly supported by both Council Members and local residents alike providing a food store for Sandy of the scale needed to reduce unnecessary travel to towns and stores farther afield.
